Hurricane Harvey Aftermath: 100,000 Homes Destroyed, A Million Vehicles Ruined And Bottled Water Being Sold For $99 A Case

It is now being estimated that the total amount of economic damage caused by Hurricane Harvey will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 190 billion dollars.  It is a disaster unlike anything that we have ever seen before in all of U.S. history, and federal officials are already admitting that they are literally going to be dealing with the aftermath of this storm for “years”.  At this point, more than 100,000 homes have been destroyed, “up to one million vehicles” have been ruined, and many retailers have already been caught engaging in extreme price gouging.  But this could be just […]

Unprecedented Disaster: Hurricane Harvey Has Shattered The Rainfall Record For The Continental United States

Never before have we seen a storm dump more than 50 inches of rain on a single location in the continental United States.  The previous record for rainfall in the continental United States occurred when Tropical Storm Amelia dumped 48 inches of rain on Medina, Texas in 1978.  But now one spot in southeast Texas has already received 52 inches of rain, and the rain continues to fall.  And overall, 14 different spots in the Houston area have already gotten more than 40 inches of rain.  Authorities are telling us that this will easily be the most costly disaster in […]

This Emperor Has No Clothes

First, we have to realize that the North Korean regime is so embedded with its propaganda that it enjoys a religious reverence, despite its extremely poor populace. South Korea right next door is 20 times richer, yet… It has survived 70 years, longer than any top-down regime in the communist world. But it has an “Achilles’ Heel.” The country’s demographics aren’t as bad as those of Russia… But they’re still bad enough to make them desperate on top of their extremely low GDP per capita. How long can you keep the “bad dream” going? The Soviet Union started to fail […]

China’s 4-Pronged Gold Hoarding Strategy

Money Metals readers may remember my November 2014 report in which I discussed how gold flowed into China in “tributary fashion” like small streams flowing into a giant one. In this case, the gold has been streaming into China’s increasingly massive thousands-of-tons gold hoard. In January, 2015, I penned an essay titled “China’s Global Gold Supply “Game of Stones,” outlining China’s long-range goal to dominate the world’s physical gold market. Well, events have moved massively forward since then. I want to update you as to just how much things have changed – and how close we may be to experiencing […]

Hurricane Harvey Has Dumped 15 Trillion Gallons Of Water On Texas And May Be The Most Expensive Natural Disaster In U.S. History

Authorities are now telling us that Hurricane Harvey may end up causing more economic damage than even Hurricane Katrina did.  We already knew that some parts of southeast Texas are going to be “uninhabitable for an extended period of time”, but the latest forecasts are calling for about 10 more inches of total rain than had previously been projected.  At this moment 15 trillion gallons of water have already been dumped on Texas, and the rain continues to fall.  You can get some idea of the devastation that has taken place in Houston by watching this drone footage.  Essentially, some […]

Special Update: Live From Houston

Houston, Texas – It’s not over yet. Hurricane Harvey made landfall on Friday night, and almost no one cared. We had rain. Big deal. Then more rain on Saturday as the storm sat, almost stationary. Harvey lost power and was demoted to a tropical storm. We went out to dinner, noting the water was over the seawall in some parts of our waterfront neighborhood south of Houston, north of Galveston. Then we had more rain. Overnight, a weakened Harvey meandered a mile this way and that, pulling moisture from the gulf, dumping it in our laps and homes. My sister […]

Hurricane Harvey Will Render Some Parts Of Texas ‘Uninhabitable For An Extended Period Of Time’

Do you remember what Hurricane Katrina did to New Orleans?  Well, now we are watching the same thing happen to southeast Texas.  On Friday, Hurricane Harvey made landfall as a category 4 hurricane.  It is the first hurricane to make landfall in the United States in 12 years, and it is the most powerful storm to hit the state of Texas in at least 50 years.  One meteorologist is saying that what we are witnessing is “worse than the worst-case scenario for Houston”, and another stated that this storm “could easily be one of the worst flooding disasters in U.S. […]

A Letter From Michael In Boise

Hello from Boise, Idaho!  The reason why I have not been posting new articles lately is because I have been on the road.  I have been in Boise since Monday, and absolutely amazing things have been happening for the campaign.  I spent most of Tuesday and most of Wednesday at the Republican booth at the Western Idaho Fair.  I shook a lot of hands and passed out a ton of brochures.  Thanks to you guys, we have the best looking and highest quality campaign material of anyone running for any political office in the state of Idaho.  And we also […]
